Dr. Hein is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with added qualifications in hand surgery specializing in surgery of the hand and upper extremity. He endorses a collaborative approach to treating a broad spectrum of upper extremity conditions including arthritis, nerve injury, nerve compression, trauma, stiffness, and overuse injuries. Dr. Hein thoroughly enjoys listening to his patients in order to work with them to craft a tailored plan of treatment that encourages a successful outcome. Dr. Hein has also been selected by both Seattle Magazine and Seattle Met Magazine as a Top Doctor. “My desire to learn more about medicine and the human body was sparked by an experience during a dissection in a college biology lab. We were separating pacemaker cells from cardiac muscle, and I remember being awestruck because the pacemaker cells kept beating even though they were no longer connected to the heart. This was elegant and fascinating to me, and set me on a path that led to multiple volunteer opportunities which solidified my course for a career in medicine.”

Dr Hein is a very respectable very nice very informative very patient overall one of the best physicians I've had the opportunity to work with or be seen by I should say he performed my carpal tunnel surgery in minimal time with minimal recovery and I'm the better for it now we just got to do the opposite side which he will be doing in the very near future and nobody really looks forward to surgery but I'm not so scared to have it done he's an exceptional doctor I'm glad to have him on my care team

Dr Hein was my hand surgeon at Polyclinic for trigger finger care. Incredible results.....always. He left the clinic, with no forward. I was devastated. Found a replacement doctor in Anacortes, who eventually did carpel tunnel and two trigger fingers (one surgery) with horrible results. Six months later, still in pain, I track down Dr Hein. He remembered me with a welcome back. I am totaly confident he will correct the problem and I so look forward to again being in his care.

Wait times on the phone to speak with a scheduler could take 30 mins to over an hour. As a working individual, there is no capacity to stay on hold for that long.Communication through MyChart was easy, but only if you already have access to a staff name.
