About Steven K. Dailey
“I am big on improving quality of life and function – that's what I want to do for people,” says orthopedic surgeon Dr. Steven Dailey. “My role is to connect patients to care that gets them back to what they want to do or reduces their pain. The best thing is, I get to try to improve other people’s lives – it's very rewarding.”
Dr. Dailey was inspired to help others through his own experiences as a college athlete at Portland State University who underwent orthopedic procedures on his shoulder and elbow.
“Those procedures made me feel better and made it so I could get back to doing the things I wanted to do. It became something I wanted to do for others.”
Dr. Dailey received his medical degree from Tulane University and was fellowship trained in total joint replacement surgery at Johns Hopkins University.
“Through my education, I found a love for total joint replacement. The procedures are great at improving quality of life and getting people back to doing activities they want to do with a very high success rate.
“I’ve seen a lot of people with injuries, struggles and chronic pain. Everyone has family members – it’s relatable. You can see when someone is in pain; being in that much pain is terrible,” he says.
Dr. Dailey is the only fellowship trained total joint replacement surgeon on the coast. He provides total joint replacements for hips (anterior), knees and shoulders. He also provides partial knee replacements and fracture care.
Dr. Dailey is married to his wife Kelli Ennis, and they have a corgi. He grew up in Molalla, Oregon, and his wife is from Mulino, Oregon. They are grateful to be back in the state they love and living in coastal Oregon.
“The quality of life at the coast is exceptional,” he shares. “There is a surplus of restaurants, breweries and wineries, all in the setting of natural beauty.”
