Christopher J. Manion, MD

Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Christopher J. Manion, M.D. is originally from Anchorage and joined OPA in 2006. He earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Science Center, Denver in 1998 and concurrently served a general surgery internship and completed his orthopedic surgery residency through the University of Colorado Health Science Center from 1998-2003. After that, Dr. Manion worked at AMMC where he was chief of orthopedic surgery. Dr. Manion specializes in sports medicine, with a concentration on injuries to the knee and shoulder. In addition, Dr. Manion practices general orthopedics, treats surgical and non-surgical fracture patients, and performs hand/wrist surgeries. Dr. Manion has extensive expertise and skills in treating shoulder and knee injuries. His shoulder expertise includes treatment of rotator cuff tears, labral tears, biceps injuries, shoulder dislocations, and shoulder impingement. patients He also treats many knee conditions including ACL tears, meniscal tears and chondral injuries. Dr. Manion enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including fishing & hunting, skiing, and traveling. He is conversant in Spanish and is a certified scuba Divemaster.
