“I’ve always had a passion for caring,” says Justine. Her desire to serve vulnerable people, along with her special interest in addressing maternal mental health issues, are what motivated her to become a nurse midwife. “I value empathy, compassion and holistic care,” she says, “and I recognize their importance in creating a supportive environment that fosters a patient’s potential and autonomy.”

Justine focuses on promoting the well-being of the whole person, and on educating her patients so they can make informed decisions and maintain their health. “Building caring relationships with patients and their families and seeing them take charge of their health is the most rewarding part of my work,” she says. “I value any feedback that will help me continue building a culture of caring.”

A graduate of Frontier Nursing University in Versailles, Ky., Justine is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board. She sees patients at Providence Portland, St. Vincent and Willamette Falls Medical Centers.

An avid gardener, she enjoys spending sunny days caring for her chickens, bees and pets.
