Shannon L. Duncan, ARNP

Shannon Duncan is a Certified Nurse Practitioner who works with Dr. Gruber in neurosurgery. She began her nursing education by graduating with her Associates of Science in Nursing from North Idaho College in 2007. Her first nursing position was in Labor and Delivery at Kootenai Health, where she gravitated towards higher risk deliveries and found a love for the Operating Room. She transitioned to the OR while working towards and then graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lewis Clark State College. In 2020, she started working in the OR at Sacred Heart Medical Center where she worked with the neurosurgeons of Inland Neurosurgery and Spine. In 2021, she enrolled at Northwest Nazarene University, graduating with her Master of Science in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) Degree in 2023. She enjoys the team-based approach to care and being able to follow the patient from the clinic, through surgery, and into the postoperative/recovery phases to provide consistent and optimal care. She believes it is imperative for the patient to be a partner in their health management for success.
