About B Megan Madden
I was born and raised in a small town in Northern California. I decided to go into medicine because I enjoy science and wanted to work with people to improve the quality of their lives. I earned my medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Early in my medical education, I realized that I was fascinated by neurology because there is still so much mystery and unknown in the field. This mystery provides challenge in my practice and the need for continuous learning. After completing my neurology residency and fellowship at The University of Wisconsin in Madison Wisconsin, I decided that the Pacific Northwest, with a more temperate climate, was the place for me. My family loves to call the Northwest home! We truly enjoy the natural beauty, the wonderful people, the world class food, and being able to get outside year round. I am a general neurologist and see all types of neurological conditions. I have fellowship training in epilepsy. I also have a special interest in treating headache. I have a Certificate of Added Qualification in Headache Medicine (CAQ) from The National Headache Foundation and am a member of the American Headache Society. I also do botulinum toxin injections for chronic migraine. I believe that in order to provide good neurological care, one needs to listen carefully to the patient and their families as well as pay attention to the details. I thrive by getting outside as much as possible. My passion is gardening and I especially love taking care of rose plants. I find the Pacific Northwest to be the perfect area for this hobby. I also enjoy traveling, hiking and camping. I find my balance by getting outside, exercising or spending time with family whenever I get the chance. Dr. Madden was elected as a top doctor in Portland Monthly’s 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018 “Top Docs and Nurses” feature.
