About Edward G. Barton
Dr. Barton graduated summa cum laude from UCSD then received his MD from UCLA School of Medicine. He completed his neurology residency at UCLA, followed by fellowship training at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. This training included intraoperative monitoring, clinical neurophysiology, EMG and neuromuscular disease.
Dr. Barton is dual board-certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology. He has great enthusiasm and drive for patient care to go with his robust academic and clinical background. His research interests have included neuromuscular disease, electroencephalography, organic chemistry and even cardiology. He is currently active in clinical research studies and has been awarded research grants in neuromuscular disease, Duchenne’s and muscular dystrophy.

On a personal note, Dr. Barton was born and raised in Los Angeles and is married with two young daughters. His studies have taken him around the world, including St. Petersburg State University in St. Petersburg, Russia and Beijing University in Beijing, China. He is also an award-winning competitive ballroom dancer and is an accomplished impressionist oil painter.
