About Kenneth P. Martinez

“I’m here to give the depth and breadth of care that every person with a neurological disorder deserves.” The founder and director of the Neurology and Pain Specialty Center, Dr. Kenneth Martinez practices a team approach to the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. Board certified in neurology, he is dedicated to making a full range of quality care easily accessible to his patients at his Aliso Viejo office. Dr. Martinez grew up in Lake Forest, California. Early on, he showed an intense interest in science, and by high school, he had decided to become a doctor. “I wanted to combine my love of science with my desire to help people.” After graduation from high school, he entered the University of Southern California and graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts in biology in 1993. Four years later, Dr. Martinez earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine. In 2000, he completed his internship and residency at the University of California San Diego Medical Center. From 2000 to 2001 he served as chief resident in the Department of Neuroscience at the same institution. “I became a neurologist because I wanted to help my patients discover the answers to their complex medical problems. Often, I can explain the unknown to them, relieving their anxiety about their condition and start the healing process.” Beginning his medical career at Kaiser Southern California Permanente Medical Group in the Department of Neurology in Anaheim, California, Dr. Martinez soon realized that his heart was in establishing his own practice in the community he knew and loved. In 2001, he launched his private practice in Aliso Viejo, where he earned a reputation for achieving successful outcomes with a variety of patients suffering from neurological disorders. “Success with my patients gives me great personal and professional satisfaction.” Dr. Martinez has active privileges at Providence Mission Hospital, Providence Mission Hospital Laguna Beach and Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. He is the medical director of the Movement Disorder program at South Coast Health Center in Aliso Viejo. Dr. Martinez is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Neurology, American Neurological Association, American Parkinson’s Disease Association, National Parkinson Disease Foundation, Essential Tremor Foundation, American Medical Association and California Medical Association. In addition to his successful practice, Dr. Martinez is nationally known for his commitment to excellence through active patient support groups, research and education.
