Renee Dua, MD

After an agonizing experience taking her infant son to the ER and waiting hours to see a doctor, Renee Dua decided to form Heal to reduce the amount of waiting time to see a doctor, especially during evenings and weekends when doctor availability is extremely limited. She wanted to offer an affordable means for people of all ages who may have difficulties going to the doctor’s office or may not have insurance so that they could receive ongoing medical care. She has amassed a team of world class doctors to deliver patients access to care.

Dr. Dua is a nephrologist and internist and has served as Chief of Medicine at Valley Presbyterian and Simi Valley Hospitals. She completed her BS in Biochemistry at UC San Diego, her medical degree at Rosalind Franklin University, her residency at UCLA, and her fellowship in nephrology at USC.

Outside of work, Renee is married to technology entrepreneur and Heal CEO Nick Desai. She is the mother to three children and is still learning how to parent “on the job.” She believes there is no way one can ever be perfectly prepared for the challenging yet wonderful role of parenthood. She is always improving her ability to multi-task, whilst juggling family, Heal, her busy medical practice, and constantly reminding herself to not lose her mobile phone and car keys.
