About Ernesto L. Sequeira Abarca

Ernesto Sequeira Abarca MD is board certified in Internal Medicine since 2011 and he completed his Nephrology Fellowship in August of 2022 at Loma Linda Medical Center and Loma Linda VA. His interests include chronic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, transplant nephrology, hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis. He has a combined 11 years of experience in the practice of Internal Medicine and Nephrology as of September 2022. Dr. Sequeira Abarca is also fluent in Spanish. Dr. Sequeira Abarca is originally from Nicaragua. Both of his parents were in healthcare service, and he developed from his youth interest in Medicine. He enrolled in medical school and obtained his medical degree with honors at UNAN-Leon, Nicaragua, where throughout his training in medical school, he worked with a significant number of underserved patients with diverse degrees of chronic kidney diseases due to sugar cane plantations. Subsequently, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. He worked as an Internist in AZ for several years before moving to CA and worked as a hospitalist in the Apple Valley for 4 years before pursuing his fellowship in Nephrology. Dr. Sequeira Abarca has an interest in serving all patients with kidney diseases and their complications. He believes that “For us physicians it is a blessing and a privilege to be able to provide our services and medical knowledge, to help our patients and to contribute to their spiritual and physical wellbeing and improve outcomes or achieve cure as much as possible.” In his time off, he enjoys spending time with his family. Other interests include bicycling, soccer, other sports, cars, traveling, and reading.
