Lisa Malmquist, CNM, enjoys learning about patients, their life and experiences. She is incredibly empathetic and compassionate.

“Building rapport with people and creating relationships is so important,” she says. “I always try to bring humor into my practice and help people feel relaxed in what can sometimes be a stressful and vulnerable time for women.”

Lisa supports women of all ages through their life.

“I love seeing the same patient return for a repeat pregnancy or annual exam. A true testament to one's practice is people coming back to see you,” she shares.

Lisa has interests in improving maternity care, reducing primary cesarean sections and creating better outcomes for women in pregnancy. She wants women to feel involved in their care, including having a say in how their pregnancy is managed.

“I support women through their pregnancy, labor and postpartum period by listening to them, their concerns, fears, hopes and expectations for birth,” says Lisa. “I am particularly drawn to women who have difficult social circumstances. I enjoy connecting them with resources to help them have a healthy pregnancy and baby.”

Naturally drawn to serving people, Lisa practiced as a labor and delivery nurse before returning to school for midwifery. She was born in England and lived there until 1995. In her spare time, she loves photography, travel, the theater, listening to podcasts and watching British comedies. She has an adult daughter and three cats.
