About Heather Wilson
An early career in politics inspired Heather Wilson, CNM, to join the field of midwifery. While working on Capitol Hill, Heather drafted legislation pertaining to women's health and handled women's health policy issues. She has a special interest in natural childbirth and out-of-hospital birth. "I was drawn to birth work for many years," Heather says. "I completed a doula training course in 2006 and felt that serving women through pregnancy and birth was my calling."
Heather left politics to establish a busy private doula practice and began a midwifery apprenticeship. In 2010, she moved to Portland to complete a local Nurse-Midwifery program at Oregon Health & Science University.
