About Kyle Esguerra

Kyle began his journey in the field of healthcare by pursuing a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA, where he graduated in December of 2021. During his time in graduate school, Kyle distinguished himself by serving as the president of the Pi Theta Epsilon Delta Kappa chapter, an honor awarded to the top 35% of students based on academic performance and professionalism. In 2022, Kyle launched his career as an occupational therapist at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, working in both the acute care and acute rehabilitation settings. This experience laid the foundation for his expertise in treating a diverse range of conditions, from critical illness to rehabilitation. Seeking to broaden his clinical experience, Kyle moved to San Diego, where he joined Family Health Centers of San Diego-Oceanside. In this outpatient clinic, he provided care for the geriatric community, further refining his skills in working with older adults and addressing age-related health issues. As a lifelong learner, Kyle has pursued numerous certifications to expand his expertise. He became a Certified Neuro Specialist under the Neuro Specialist Institute, a certification that complements his strong focus on neurological rehabilitation. He also earned his Physical Agent Modalities certification from the California Board of Occupational Therapy, enhancing his ability to incorporate advanced treatment modalities into patient care. Kyle's commitment to professional development led him to recently achieve certification as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist through the Norton School of Lymphatics, followed by his Board Certification from the Lymphology Association of North America. This achievement is a testament to his dedication to advancing his skills in specialized areas of care. Currently, Kyle works at the renowned Providence Holy Cross Medical Center’s outpatient lymphedema/oncology clinic. In this role, he evaluates and treats patients with a range of diagnoses, including oncology, vascular disease, and primary lymphedema. His work allows him to make a significant impact in improving his patients' quality of life, particularly in managing complex, chronic conditions. Kyle takes great pride in being a lifelong learner and is passionate about continuing to expand his knowledge and skills to better serve his patients. His dedication to providing compassionate, evidence-based care has been the cornerstone of his success as an occupational therapist.
