About Richard Z. Tsai
In his practice, Richard Tsai, MD, emphasizes prevention, education and listening to his patients. "I believe that prevention is the best medicine," he says. "A good primary care provider can identify early signs or risk factors and prevent a disease from having a significant impact on a patient's life."
Dr. Tsai assures his patients that he will always listen to their concerns. He also is committed to teaching his patients about their health issues. "An educated patient is an empowered patient," he says. "I try to educate my patients about their health concerns so they can take charge of their health."
Dr. Tsai graduated Phi Beta Kappa in biophysics from Johns Hopkins University. He attended Washington University School of Medicine and completed his residency at University of North Carolina Hospitals.
In his free time, Dr. Tsai enjoys working with computers, hiking and spending time with his family.

Dr. Tsai is the rare combination of professional and knowledgeable while being relaxed and easy to converse with. He is the type of Doctor I had hoped to find when my previous provider retired. I am lucky to have found him and have no desire to see anyone else as my primary provider.
