About Anne M. Hirsch
It is my goal to educate my patients to be able to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle to prevent diseases over the course of their lifetime. Good medicine is all about prevention. I try to do this by building relationships with my patients, learning about and knowing each patient throughout the course of his or her life, as well as major life events.
I am particularly interested in preventative medicine, women’s healthcare, and cardiovascular medicine.
There are important things that keep me passionate about practicing medicine. First of all, my patients, who make my work meaningful. In addition, when I am presented professionally with a challenging health situation - that helps to keep me learning. There are fascinating trends in medicine that remain compelling. For example, I am very interested in genome sequencing and the use of Biologic agents which will aid in our ability to treat diseases and potentially be a part of preventing disease.
My interests are varied. I am currently involved in the Susan G. Komen Medical Advisory Committee, previously participated in the governor-appointed Task Force on Clinical Breast Exams and served as the Professional Medical Staff President for Providence Portland Medical Center. In other arenas, I've been a repeat participant in the Portland to Coast run and I'm a Portland Marathon finisher.
In my spare time I like to take walks and swim, I love to read, and I enjoy playing both the piano and the flute. I'm also looking forward to joining the Marylhurst Symphony in the near future. I love spending time with my family as well.
All that said, my biggest satisfaction comes from dedication to my patients. I love what I do!
