Ann Marie Paulsen, MD

I earned my medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center where I also completed a residency in internal medicine. I grew up in Colorado and after completing my medical training in Omaha, Nebraska, I decided I needed to be close to the mountains again and Portland fits that bill perfectly. I was drawn to practice Internal Medicine in Primary Care because I enjoy meeting people and helping them with preventing diseases and disease progression. I believe in engaging my patients to take control of their health through active lifestyles and healthy eating. I have a special interest in women’s health, chronic disease management, and geriatric medicine though I see all patients over the age of sixteen. I love working at The Portland Clinic because of the wonderful staff and services we provide. I am an avid mountaineer with the goal of climbing all the high peaks in the Pacific Northwest and Colorado. I volunteer uncountable hours with a local hiking/climbing organization called the Mazamas. I am working towards a Diploma in Mountain Medicine so that I may provide expert care to other high-altitude seekers. I also love to travel, run, and read. Dr. Paulsen was elected as a top doctor in Portland Monthly’s 2015-2018 “Top Docs and Nurses” feature.
