Sarah T. Harris, PAC

Sarah Harris, PA, grew up in a family that emphasized service, and she planned for a career in international relations. However, after traveling, she shifted her focus to medicine. “I realized that I might better serve people using a more hands-on approach, helping one individual at a time,” she recalls. “Becoming a physician assistant was a perfect fit for my skills and interests.”

In her practice today, Sarah loves forming relationships with patients that span years and a variety of health concerns. She emphasizes teamwork with her patients, “getting to know them not just as a patient but as a person,” she says. She feels most gratified being a resource for patients as they accomplish their health goals. “There’s nothing more satisfying than hearing a patient say, ‘I feel so much better,’” Sarah says.

After earning her undergraduate degree in international studies from the University of Denver, Sarah went on to complete her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Oregon Health & Science University. She has served on medical aid trips to Kenya, Uganda, Mexico, Guatemala, and Peru.

Born and raised outside of Denver, Sarah is thrilled with the outdoor lifestyle in the Pacific Northwest. “Moving here was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” she says. When not at work, she enjoys skiing, hiking, running, and traveling; when the rainy Oregon winters keep her indoors, she can be found reading, cooking, and swing dancing.
