About Robert Y. Choi

Along with his medical degree, Dr. Choi earned Masters' degrees in both Public Health-Epidemiology and International Affairs with concentration on human rights and international relations. After completing his residency, he served as a medical team leader in Darfur, Sudan for Doctors without Borders. Dr. Choi has a special interest in global health and epidemiology, traveling several times to Nairobi, Kenya to lead investigations and educate African physicians on HIV epidemiology and quantitative research methods. He frequently lectures around the country and is published in numerous medical journals for his AIDS research. Dr. Choi has served in medical clinics in Kenya, Cuba and Tanzania and has conducted field and laboratory research in Spain, Estonia, Singapore and Russia. As a member of the Medical Staff at Providence Regional Medical Center, Dr. Choi offers referring physicians and their patients access to excellent care, the clinical continuity and safety of a single Epic electronic medical record, and the backing of a multi-disciplinary group of hospitalists.
