About Venessa A. Stas
An expert downhill skier with an advanced certification in open-water scuba diving and Certificate Program in Piano from Toronto’s Royal Conservatory of Music under her belt, it’s no surprise that Dr. Venessa Stas approaches her life as an orthopedic surgeon with much enthusiasm. “Not only is orthopedics mentally stimulating, but it is also physically challenging and you get concrete results toward improving people’s lives,” she says. “I feel it is more of a vocation than a job.” Dr. Stas completed her medical degree, specialist training in orthopedic surgery, and a fellowship in adult orthopedic trauma in Toronto, and also completed an additional fellowship in adult hip and knee joint reconstruction in Chicago. The combination of training in two countries and being double board certified has allowed her to take the best aspects from each and shape it into her own approach, with a human touch. She treats all general orthopedic conditions, but focuses her practice on minimally invasive hip and knee replacements, revision hip and knee replacements and adult orthopedic trauma. Dr. Stas believes in educating the patient of their condition, formulating an individualized treatment plan with available options and monitoring the patient's progress until the condition has resolved. “I treat every patient individually, as if they were a member of my family,” she says. “It’s all about honesty, sincerity, and treating everyone with respect.” Dr. Stas enjoys classical music and has completed her piano degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada.
