About Tanya A. Wahl
Dr. Wahl is a native of the Pacific Northwest and a perennial winner of the Seattle Met Top Doctor award. Dr. Wahl graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Technical Communication and attended Duke School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. There she received a Stead Scholarship and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellowship, studying cell signal transduction in yeast. She completed Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at Stanford University Hospital and Medical Center in Palo Alto, California and returned to Seattle to complete her Hematology Fellowship at University of Washington/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Dr. Wahl is Board Certified in Medical Oncology and has been in practice since 2003. She is happy to care for patients with any cancer diagnosis and has a special interest in breast cancer, gynecologic malignancies and clinical research. She particularly enjoys working with patients collaboratively in order to optimize the quality of the care they receive.

Dr Wahl and team respond immediately to any concerns. Her expertise is up to date as well as knowing how historical changes have affected my care. She is both knowledgeable and caring and shares verbally this information so it is understood. She has just facilitated my osteoporosis infusion care via my chart and phone immediately upon finding out I was being turned down or made to wait over 6 weeks by other providers.

Great Dr. This is a complex cancer diagnosis and it can be hard to understand some of Dr. Wahl's initial explanations because they can get quite technical. I was just diagnosed recently, about a month ago. But Dr. Wahl always willing to answer questions and I'm comfortable asking her for clarification. She listens carefully. I'm In great hands with Dr. Wahl.

I still have some anxiety about it, but she has helped me deal with it, and the treatment seems to be working well. I sincerely appreciate her taking the time to answer my questions and put my mind at ease.One other thing that I really appreciate: When I go to check in for my appointment, I am asked for my name first, not my date of birth. I find the latter highly impersonal and in a sense insulting, but it is common elsewhere, including one of the other major hospital systems in the area.
