About Lori L. Lingle Elling
Lori was born and raised in Oregon. She went on to attend Pacific Lutheran University where she ran track and competed in the heptathlon. She then transferred to Oregon State University earning a degree in Health and Physical Education. She went on to earn an Occupational Therapy degree at University of Puget Sound. She worked in Salem for Home Health right out of college. She then moved to the Portland area and worked for Tuality Community Hospital in the areas of inpatient, outpatient neuro, lymphedema, and hand therapy. She ran the Stroke Support Group for 10 years. Lori earned her certification of hand therapy (CHT) in 2003. She began working for Providence Rehabilitation in 2015. She works in the specialization of hand and upper extremity therapy and concussions. She enjoys working with patients and teaching them how to achieve their fullest rehab potential. Lori is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapy. She has presented at several community education forums, provides education for her profession, is a clinical instructor for OT students during their internships and mentors co-workers to learn hand therapy techniques. She was the Clinical Advanced Program Lead of the Hand and Upper Extremity program at Providence for 5 years. Lori has two adult children that she loves to go on hikes with. She also enjoys snow skiing, water skiing, and gardening.
