About Juan Carlos Vasquez

Juan Carlos Vasquez, M.D., was inspired to become a surgeon after his younger brother required emergency surgery as a newborn. "The impact the surgeon had on my brother and family's life resonates with me to this day, and as such I approach each patient encounter as an opportunity to positively impact their lives," he says.

In his practice, Dr. Vasquez emphasizes trust and education. "I strive to build a solid connection with each person and make them feel heard," he says. "We discuss their diagnosis and treatment options in a way that empowers patients and eases their anxiety about surgery."

After earning his medical degree from McGovern Medical School in Houston, Dr. Vasquez completed his general surgery residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He also completed an advanced gastrointestinal/minimally invasive surgical fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Vasquez enjoys traveling and leading an active lifestyle with his wife and three kids. Dr. Vasquez is fluent in Spanish.
