About Geronimo Sahagun
Geronimo Sahagun, MD, is a gastroenterologist in private practice with Internal Medicine Associates, LLC, as well as Anchorage Endoscopy Center, Anchorage, AK. He received his MD from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City. Dr. Sahagun completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Oregon Health Science University, Portland, where he was chief medical resident at the VA Medical Center. He went on to complete a gastroenterology fellowship at Oregon Health Science University. In addition, he was awarded the American Heart Association Cerebrovascular Fellowship as well as the Emory D. Warner Fellowship in Pathology at the University of Iowa College of Medicine. Dr. Sahagun is a member of several national and local professional societies, including the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is a lecturer for the family Practice Residency Program (affiliated with the University of Washington Medical Center) and Grand Rounds at several area hospitals. In addition he is a lecturer for the Physician’s Assistants and Nurse Practice Conferences in Alaska.
