About Diana Huang
Dr. Diana Huang (pronounced hwong | She/Her/Hers) loves being a family doctor because it allows her to connect with people from all backgrounds and at all stages of life. The daughter of Chinese immigrants, she grew up in Pittsburgh and went to medical school in Philadelphia. Seattle has been her home since 2017. Dr. Huang knows that going to the doctor can feel scary, so she takes time to understand her patients' health and life goals so she can empower them to succeed. Dr. Huang is in the office Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with virtual visits only on Tuesdays. Established patients can self-schedule on MyChart for in person or virtual visits. Please call or message the office if you need a procedure (e.g. IUD or Nexplanon insertion/removal/replacement) or need to be seen more urgently than online availability allows so we can address your concerns appropriately. Dr. Huang is committed to meeting her patient's medical needs through visits and appropriate use of MyChart. Note that she receives a high volume of messages and MyChart messages that require significant time and medical decision making may be billed to insurance as an e-visit. Insurance plans are complex so call your insurance directly for questions about coverage. If costs of care are a challenge, financial assistance is available for those who qualify. In addition to providing general primary care to all ages as a board-certified family physician, Dr. Huang has obtained specialized training in the areas of obesity medicine and gender-affirming care and pursues ongoing education to help meet the needs of her patients. She is proud to be part of Swedish's Transgender Health program (https://www.swedish.org/services/transgender-health) and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2023. To her, training in obesity medicine means recognizing the role that weight can play in one's health and how medical conditions and treatments may impact one's long-term weight management. She strives to provide compassionate and evidence-based treatment including medications when appropriate for weight management, with a focus on health outcomes (not size or a number on the scale). Finally, Dr. Huang is a community preceptor in the University of Washington Primary Care Practicum for 1st and 2nd year medical students which allows them to spend time with her in clinic throughout the year. While patients are not obligated to allow medical student participation in their care, know that the experience is very meaningful to the students and valuable in shaping their development as future physicians.

When she's not in the office, she loves being a mom and spending time with her husband Johnny, their dog (a six pound chihuahua-dachshund mix), and family in the Seattle area. She enjoys spending time outside, eating good food, reading, and listening to podcasts. She also donates her time and money to organizations addressing inequities in our society.

Nice appointment with Dr. Huang. I appreciated the opportunity to have an open conversation pertaining to concerns/differences of opinion she and I often have. Dr. Huang always displays concern about my overall wellbeing (primarily mental/emotional health). However, I wish she could be slightly more understanding with patients who might not feel comfortable sharing information (regardless of it being "relevant" to her role as the PCP). Patients should feel comfortable discussing topics with other providers (specialists) if they're managing specific medical conditions and share that information with the PCP when comfortable (depending on the situation/medical condition). When patients feel pressured into sharing, it can create issues with trust, resulting in a strained working relationship, and creating issues with trust and open dialogue. Even though I can understand and appreciate Dr. Huang's dedication for being up-to-date regarding her patients, she shouldn't make them feel they have to provide information they might not be ready/comfortable sharing and have this respected.
