Jocelyn M. Stromstad

After 10 years in emergency room nursing, Jocelyn made the leap to become a family nurse practitioner so she could connect better with her patients. Today, active listening is the skill she relies on most to build connections, understanding, and a foundation of trust between herself and her patients. “I will always take the time to listen to any concerns and to develop a plan of care that is both evidence-based and tailored to the individual’s needs,” she says. “I value each patient's uniqueness.”

Jocelyn enjoys working with people of all ages and helping them make positive changes in their lives. She focuses on “whole-person-centered care” and emphasizes shared decision making. “I want my patients to be well informed and involved in their care plans,” she says, “with the hope that they can live the fullest lives possible.”

Jocelyn attended Loyola University in New Orleans to earn her master’s degree in nursing and her certification as a family nurse practitioner.

Originally from the East Coast, she has lived in the Pacific Northwest for a decade, and now makes her home on the Oregon coast. In her free time, she enjoys running, cooking, and experiencing all that the coast has to offer with her husband and their two daughters.
