About Benjamin W. Mcwhorter
Benjamin’s future in nursing became clear one summer during nursing school, while he was working in a first aid clinic at a children’s camp. “Between the campers and the staff, I found there was always room for health education,” he says. “Ever since, my sights were set on becoming a family nurse practitioner.”
Today, he continues to believe that his most important role as a provider is to be an educator. “Through partnership with my patients, I can help not only to manage and guide their care, but also to teach them how to independently manage and improve their health, long term,” he says. “I hope to create an environment where patients feel comfortable, heard, and well taken care of.”
Benjamin completed his nursing education in Kansas City, Mo., earning his bachelor’s in nursing at Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences, and his master’s at Rockhurst University.
