Rick T. Warren, APRN

Rick Warren worked as a registered respiratory therapist for ten years in critical care, the emergency department and with patients with chronic lung disease. He returned to school and in 1986 earned his baccalaureate degree in nursing from the University of Portland. He then worked in oncology, home health and hospice as a case manager and later as a clinical supervisor. Rick earned his master's degree in 1998 and began practicing as a nurse practitioner. He worked for ten years in home care for Providence Pathways. He currently is affiliated with Providence Connections, a palliative care consultation service that provides care and resources for patients with advanced progressive illness. Providence Connections is a palliative care consultation service that serves patients with advanced progressive illness and their families. They provide expert symptom control, assistance with care planning, establishing goals of care, managing transitions of care and providing access to community resources. The connections staff includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and social workers who specialize in palliative medicine.
