Kristin S. Bendert, MD

Growing up I saw the interactions between my Aunt struggling with Lupus and her doctors, and seeing their care and compassion during difficult times made me realize early on that I wanted to become a physician. I grew in the Midwest, attended Augustana College for my Bachelors degree and then attended Saint Louis University for Medical School. When looking for residency programs I saw that the Pacific Northwest has three of my favorite things: trees, mountains and food. It was lucky that OHSU an amazing residency program. I chose to train in Family Medicine because of its ability to provide full-spectrum care for patients and their families, from birth to end of life care. I love building partnerships with my patents to help them achieve their personal health goals and needs. A doctor is often there at some of the best and worst moments of a patient's life, and I strive to be a familiar and comforting presence during difficult times. Outside of clinic, I like to spend time with my husband, labradoodle and son. We enjoy walking in the woods, checking out new brunch locals and relaxing at home.
