As a survivor of childhood abuse, I unfortunately have major trust issues with anyone in an authority-type position, Including medical providers. It typically takes me a long time to trust people. Grant has always been welcoming and makes me feel safe. He actually listens and is non-judgmental. He lets me drive my care and makes suggestions as to options, respectfully. I always feel like I'm in control. He is professional, a great clinician and most importantly for me, practices trauma-informed care. Before I became a patient of Grant's, I didn't engage consistently with Primary Care because I couldn't find anyone who was a good fit or who I thought actually saw me as a person and listened to my story.

I have never had a bad experience with Grant. He Is always very compassionate. He never makes me feel like he is in a hurry. He listens intently. He makes me feel like I matter and that he cares about my well being.

I asked Grant a question about flue vaccines. And he took the time to look for the answer on his computer. I appreciated him taking the time to find an answer for me!

Grant is phenomenal. When I first came to him with the issues I was having he took the time to sit down with me and really try to understand. He followed up with blood panels and has always been very aware of my ASD diagnosis and the flat affect that accompanies it. In the past, medical providers have failed to recognize the severity of certain issues, even when I plainly state them, because my reactions and facial expressions are inherently muted, which has shown to be both frustrating and potentially dangerous. But not Grant. He takes the time to listen and understand that although I may not be capable of outward expression at the levels commonly seen in neurotypical individuals, that my issues are still valid and in need of being addressed.For a person who has spent the majority of his life being misunderstood because of something out of his control, his willingness to see beyond and spend the time to hear my words for what they are is a game changer. I don't think I could really imagine having anyone else as my primary care after a lifetime of being dismissed and ignored.

I so appreciate the great care and concern my provider has for wellness.

Of all the healthcare providers I've had in my life, Grant is by far the most compassionate, understanding, and respectful. He demonstrates genuine empathy for patients and always takes the time to make sure I understand and agree with the care plan. My concerns are always taken seriously. I have never felt like an afterthought or been rushed through an appointment, as I have with many other providers. If more healthcare providers like him existed, the medical industry would benefit far more people in need than it does now.

Grant has followed my medical needs from being in the hospital to present. I am extremely comfortable and confident with my health being in the best of hands with Grant and the staff at Providence.
