About Susan A. Blasi
Early in her medical training, Susan Blasi, D.O., was drawn to the field of family medicine. In an increasingly specialized health care system, the emphasis in family medicine on humanism and understanding the patient as a whole resonated with her healing approach. “I like having the opportunity to develop relationships with patients and their families,” Dr. Blasi says. “Caring for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to seniors, is a privilege and something I truly enjoy.”
In her practice, Dr. Blasi is passionate about approaching health from a holistic perspective, including all aspects of lifestyle. To her, integrative medicine encompasses evidence-based training on a variety of health topics such as nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene, stress management, and lifestyle medicine. “I believe this type of care is applicable to all patients regardless of where they are in their health journey,” Dr. Blasi says. Some aspects of her procedural practice include performing PAP smears, Nexplanon and IUD insertion/removal, skin biopsies, and joint injections. In addition, she incorporates osteopathic manipulation, auricular acupuncture, nutrition education, and mind-body medicine into her practice.
After earning her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Medical School University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine, Dr. Blasi completed her residency at Middlesex Health Family Medicine in Connecticut, followed by a fellowship through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona.
Originally from New England, Dr. Blasi moved to the West Coast to build a new life in Oregon. When she’s not in the office, she loves spending time outdoors and exploring the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, hiking, cooking, listening to live music, and practicing yoga.
