Tess E. M. Ish-Shalom, DO

“I believe we can promote health best when we understand the whole person,” says Dr. Ish-Shalom. She chose family medicine as her specialty for that reason. In her practice, she focuses on educating and empowering patients to improve their health and well-being. “It’s an honor to provide care for several generations of the same family,” she says. She particularly enjoys women’s health, newborn care and elder care.

As a doctor of osteopathic medicine, Dr. Ish-Shalom also practices osteopathic manual medicine to address musculoskeletal issues and headaches. In addition to seeing patients of all ages, she adds, “My office will always be a safe space for members of the queer community and patients of diverse sizes.”

A graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz, Dr. Ish-Shalom attended medical school at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific - Northwest in Lebanon, Ore. She completed her internship and residency with Central Washington Family Medicine, and is board certified in family medicine.

When away from work, she says, “Time with my family and in nature is what nourishes my heart.” She loves playing and reading with her children, cooking as “a decent sous chef” with her husband, and catching up with old friends on weekends. She also seeks out yoga classes that challenge her body and focus her mind.
