About Jennifer A. Mings
Jennifer Mings, PA-C, became a physician assistant because she wanted to help medically underserved and vulnerable populations. She specifically chose family medicine because she believes that family medicine providers make the biggest impact in the lives of patients, as they are the providers who patients see the most frequently. “I also enjoy family medicine because it allows me to develop my knowledge in all areas of medicine,” she says.
Jennifer’s philosophy of care is that every patient deserves the same excellent standard of care. Every patient has a different background that impacts their health and she strives to fully consider her patients’ backgrounds in each patient encounter. In addition, Jennifer emphasizes caring for patients in a holistic way. She sees patients’ health as much more than their physical symptoms. “I ensure that my patients are not only physically healthy, but also mentally, spiritually and emotionally healthy,” Jennifer says. Her most important role as a provider is to be an empathetic support system for her patients in every area of life. She appreciates the connections she makes with her patients and finds joy in listening to them, while providing care that is meaningful. Jennifer also makes sure her patients receive the social support they need and works hard to provide them with the correct resources. She is passionate about working with her patients to help them be healthy.
Jennifer completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology at the University of Arizona, Master of Public Health at the University of New Mexico and earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Pacific University.
Although she was born in Louisiana, Jennifer spent the majority of her life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her hobbies include fostering cats, hiking and camping around the Pacific Northwest, reading, and volunteering around the Portland area.

I've really enjoyed seeing Jennifer Mings these past few years. She's always attentive and super understanding. I'll miss being able to see her for my appointments (since she's leaving the practice). She's been great!

Initially I was hesitant in seeing a PA as they have less training and experience than a DNP. However, Jennifer changed that perception. She is very knowledgeable, attentive, and caring. It's a shame to see her leave this practice.
