Phoebe L. Smith, MD

Dr. Phoebe Smith (she/her) was born and raised in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. She completed her bachelor's degree in molecular biology with a minor in gender studies at the University of Puget Sound. She spent a brief but formative year working in early childhood education before attending medical school at the Chicago Medical School. It was there she developed her passion for full spectrum family medicine, going on to complete residency at the Long Beach Memorial Family Medicine Residency. Throughout her training, she has cultivated a special interest in the fledgling field of LGBTQ+ medicine and care for gender-diverse persons. She is also passionate about reproductive and sexual health, including obstetrics and neonatal care, and especially enjoys working with adolescents and young adults. She practices primarily at the Gravenstein Community Health Center in Sebastopol, as well as the west county Teen Clinic and in the local high schools. She initially was drawn to West County Community Health thanks to the robust gender expansive services offered within the clinic system. Outside of her clinical life, she enjoys relaxing with her spouse and their cat, taking long walks in the redwoods, and reading through her excessive stacks of fiction books; which are mainly fantasy and sci-fi series.
