About Kathleen E. Young
Dr. Young was born in Pennsylvania, but grew up in Dublin, Ireland. She attended medical school at Trinity College in Dublin, graduating in 1990. She went on to complete an intern year and a year in pediatrics before moving back to the United States. Dr. Young completed her family practice residency at the University of North Dakota Family Practice Residency in Grand Forks, North Dakota. After practicing in Seattle for three years, Dr. Young moved to Alaska in 1998. Dr. Young has enjoyed working in the Anchorage community ever since. Aside from her passion for providing excellent hands-on patient care, Dr. Young serves as an adjunct assistant professor for the WWAMI Biomedical Program, teaching Alaska's future physicians. She is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. Young has served as Department Chair in Family Practice for three years, prior to serving as President of the Medical staff at Alaska Regional Hospital in 2007 Dr. Young also continues to stay involved in hospital committees.
