Isabel A. Hakala, PAC

Isabel is a 3rd generation born and raised Alaskan who was born in Fairbanks and grew up in Eagle River. She attended Chugiak Elementary, Mirror Lake Middle School, and Chugiak High School through the Spanish Immersion Program. She started out her career in medicine as a medical assistant while attending the University of Alaska Anchorage studying Health Sciences and Spanish. She then attended the MEDEX Northwest Physician Assistant Program through the University of Washington and graduated in 2020 Magna Cum Laude. She chose to stay in Alaska where she wants to raise her family and serve the patients of her community. As a prior student at our clinic, she felt at home in primary care and after graduating she transitioned to working as a Physician Assistant here. Her passion is caring for her patients in times of wellness and illness. She feels it is important to empower patients in their own healthcare through education, understanding, and shared decision making. In addition to serving her patients, she enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, boating, skiing, gardening, and crafting.
