I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a young child. My mother played an integral part in helping me to learn to navigate a normal life with diabetes. When I was 13, I became the patient of a phenomenal pediatric endocrinologist who also has type 1 diabetes and inspired me to go into medicine to help others living with T1D.
