Isis Armendariz, Doula

My journey into birth work began over 12 years ago as a bilingual (Spanish-speaking) community doula. I approach my work through the lens of Reproductive Justice. I believe in the right to bodily autonomy for all pregnant people and their right to informed consent in the birth space. I recognize the value in supporting, and helping folks understand that they have the right to safety, education, compassion, and respect during this tender time in their lives. I feel particularly drawn to working with immigrant families, single parents, our youngest parent population and anyone interested in having an empowering birth experience, free from judgement. One of my favorite aspects of birth work is meeting with clients prenatally and cultivating a trusting working relationship so that I can best assist them in achieving the birth experience that they want. In my free time, you can find me hiking a new trail with my young child, exploring the newest coffee shops in my area, napping or tending to my humble little garden.
