Very passive and thorough experience with Dr mccelland

On my initial attempt to make an appointment several months ago the scheduling was out 6 months or so. The last time the schedule was out approximately 1 month. These times seemed rather long, however, I did not believe I had any conditions or problems that required rapid service and was not disturbed, just seemed like the lead time on appoints was quite long. At the appointment everything went extremely well. The doctor and staff were great and I was very satisfied with everything. Left well informed having had a very good experience.

I have been seeing Dr. McClelland over the last few years. He has always been very friendly, talks about my dermatology issues and gives advice on how I should care for my skin. He referrers me to a MOHS surgeon when needed which has been very helpful. Although I don't like having ongoing skin problems, I feel very comfortable when I see Dr. McClelland because I know he will take care of my skin problems.

Called in early Nov asking for appt for an issue. First available appt offered was in late December. But Dr McClelland was willing to help me sooner via MY CHART. I appreciated that so much. The Dec appt turned into a follow-up appt where he checked the effectiveness of the treatment he had recommended via MY CHART. Because he is good, I understand that Dr McClelland is naturally very busy. While it is frustrating to not be able to get a timely appt, I understood and appreciated that I was still able to receive timely care!

I went in for my annual skin care. Dr. McLelland checked my whole body, removed a couple Keratoma's and did a biopsy on what turned out to be basal cell carcinoma. He referred me to a surgeon who make sure all the cancer was removed. My regular visits with him have caught multiple cancers, early. He's a trusted and valued provider.

I was a bit early for my appointment, the person with the appointment before me was late, so I was Thanks VERY much form being early, I got in early and did not have to wait for the other person to get there before they saw me, I believe they were seen after me,,, loved this!!! I was asked if I wanted a 3rd female in the room by the first Nurse,, that was very considerate. LOVE seeing all the pictures (on the digital photo album) of Dr. McClelland's family on my very short wait for him to come into the exam room. If going to the doctor can be a called "pleasant experience", this comes as close as it gets.

Dr McCelland is my dermatologist and I always see him for any skin issues. This visit was for a finger rash that has been present for six months. He prescribed Clobetasol and so far it seems to be working but time will tell. I will follow up with him in a few weeks if it doesn't improve significantly.

I was surprised at how soon I was able to see a doctor. For routine visits to my dermatologist usually are booked out at least a month. In this instance, when I told the receptionists my problem, I was given an appointment in less than 48 hours.

Dr. McClelland is not my PCP but instead the derm that my PCP referred me to for skin checkup. He's biopsied and removed various lesions of concern over the past few years and I consider my annual visits with him vital to my long-term health.
