About Lisa S. Turner
Dr. Lisa Turner believes that when it comes to patient care, no concern is too small. She feels that as a dermatologist, she can do much to improve the quality of life for her patients. "It's really rewarding to see patients who are happy because their skin is improved," she says.
Dr. Turner earned her undergraduate degree from Columbia University in New York and her medical degree from the University of Chicago. She also completed her residency in dermatology at the University of Chicago. Following her residency she practiced in Chicago for three years as part of a group affiliated with Northwestern University.
Outside the office, Dr. Turner enjoys spending time with her family. Her favorite activities include running, skiing and dancing.

I live more than 20 miles from the clinic, arrived at clinic just after it opened, very early for my appt. (traffic can be very heavy and unpredictable). I've been Dr. Turner's patient for many years. Dr. Turner kindly agreed to see me then (annual checkup). She works and speaks very rapidly, so I feel some pressure to rush my thoughts and questions. Nonetheless, she addressed my concerns and treated my AKs quickly and efficiently. It's possible that Dr. Turner feels some pressure to be a "good producer," which would account for her speed.

The initial appointment with Sunset Dermatology is hard to get with long wait times. Once you are an established patient, the process is much easier. Dr. Turner has a tight schedule, but she does give the patient extra time if necessary. Thankfully, my visit this time was routine.
