Henry E. DeGroot, MD

Dr. DeGroot was raised in Chino, California. After high school he served in the United States Marine Corps both in the states and abroad. He finished his military service in Hawaii and stayed there for his initial undergraduate work at the University of Hawaii. From there he studied and trained in the Midwest and East Coast before settling back in California. Dr. DeGroot received his Medical Degree with Distinction at Indiana University, where he received numerous awards and scholarships including the Graduating Senior Academic Achievement Award. After completing his Residency at UC San Diego, where he also served as Chief Resident, Dr. DeGroot worked at Kaiser Permanente for 10 years before pursuing private practice. Dr. DeGroot remains active in teaching and has held an academic teaching position with UC Davis since 2004. Dr. DeGroot's goal in everyday practice is to use his 25+ years of experience in skin disease and skin care towards compassionate and effective treatment. He enjoys all aspects of Dermatology but specializes in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and the advanced medical treatment of skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. Dr. DeGroot's other passions include his wife, 3 children, office dog (Mimi), 3 cats, and any project around the house involving power tools. He has traveled extensively abroad but locally will often be found in South Lake Tahoe doing anything outdoors (with sunscreen).
