About Tanya S. Nino
When it comes to skin care, Dr. Nino provides exceptional treatment based on knowledge, skill, and experience. Dr. Nino is double board certified in Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Nino's passion is treating skin cancer, and she believes that prevention and early detection are of utmost importance. Dr. Nino encourages her patients to be seen regularly for skin exams and to notify her of any concerns. Dr. Nino makes herself available to her patients in order to address their needs, working tirelessly to help her patients see positive outcomes for their skin disease. Dr. Nino believes in patient autonomy and therefore collaborates with her patients to find the course of care that best suits their individual needs.
Dr. Nino attended Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society for excellence in scholarship, ethical ideals, dedication to serving others, and standards of professionalism. Dr. Nino received the UniHealth Foundation Scholarship for dedication to community service.
After a combination medical/surgical internship at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center, Dr. Nino returned to Loma Linda University for Dermatology residency, where she was named chief resident and honored for her devotion to teaching and contributions to practice development. Dr. Nino's desire to help those suffering from skin cancer culminated in Dr. Nino's procedural dermatology fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and advanced reconstructive techniques.
In addition, Dr. Nino is well-versed in general dermatology and enjoys treating patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. Dr. Nino is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. She is a published author on the topics of skin cancer, skin biopsy techniques, and medical/legal issues of informed consent. Dr. Nino has lectured at top dermatologic conferences and continues to participate in educational and teaching opportunities in the medical community.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Nino enjoys spending time with family and playing the piano.

They called and got me in a couple days later to remove the growth. She suspects that it was squamous cell due to location and rapid growth. She removed it and will send to lab. I had a suspicious facial lesion which was biopsied by my normal dermatologist. This lesion turned out to be skin cancer but I was not able to schedule removal with this clinician for over two months. It was uncomfortable to have this 'hole in my face' for months knowing it was cancer, I just wanted It gone. Now that the skin cancer has been removed and the incision is healing I feel that she did a good job. It appears to be healing nicely. I just wish it could have happened sooner.

This visit with Dr Nino was. Follow up visit after a squamous cell lesion. Had be removed by her a few weeks prior. Dr Nino is my Dermatologist and has been for many years. I try to see her every four months due to my Actinic Keratosis conditionxz. Precancerous lesions that must be treated before they become cancerous. I see D Mino 3-4 times a year to keep this condition in check. . After leaving her office so went to the front desk to make my next appointment. I told her I was doing that. The attendant at the front desk said she could not make an appointment in four months but they had something available in February 2025??? I told her that was not the schedule I keep with dr Nino. I needed an appointment in 4 months. She told me she would have to check with the Dr Nino who was busy but she promised to call me back by the end of the day. The provider, Dr. Nino was excellent. The glitch was trying to find a dermatologist and getting someone to answer the phone. I literally drove to offices to find the first available dermatologist in Orange County (St. Joseph Heritage Health). I was able to get into Dr. G. In February and was finally able to get the surgery on my face for Squamous cell carcinoma by Dr. Nino on May [Date]. Trying to get into St. Jude Heritage was impossiblefirst visit wasn't until July 2024 and my cancer was growing rapidly. Thank you Dr. G. And Dr. Nino for getting me in!!!
