About Austin D. Longberg
Dr. Austin Longberg is a dermatologist with Mission Heritage Medical Group. He grew up in Rockford, MI outside of Grand Rapids. He studied Pre-Medicine Biology at Indiana Wesleyan University and completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then served his residency at Beaumont Hospital/Michigan State University in Detroit, MI. Dr. Longberg is passionate in all fields of Dermatology but particularly enjoys managing Psoriasis (and the use of biologics), Acne, Rosacea, Melasma and Surgical Dermatology. He believes it is important to be a team with his patients and finding the right treatments for each of them individually. He also enjoys when his patients take an active role in their own health and management of their skin disease.

I feel like Dr. Longberg is always rushed. He has been monitoring a mole on my back year and a half. He feels the mole is ok now , but he never took pictures or measurements like other Dermatologists have done in the last. I have a 2 removed considered precancerous.Dr. Longberg is very pleasant . I do feel he is either rushed , and could be more thorough. He froze 3-4 spots on my nose and a growth on my leg , he didn't not tell me what is was and any follow up care. The spot that he froze looks the same. I will have to call and ask what it should be like. At the end of the appointment he said I could see him in 6 months or a year. I plan on not seeing him.

I have been seeing Dr Longberg since I started on [ID]. He is always very kind and knowledgeable about diagnosing any shin issues I have had. The day I saw him he was running behind schedule due to a number of patients with many questions regarding their health and he patiently helped them. He apologized for his delay in seeing me and I told him not to worry, I understood. He is normally very punctual with seeing me for my visit. I told his assistant of my new diagnosis of lymphocytic colitis and when he came in to see me he immediately asked me about this with great concern. I explained what a difficult journey this had been, how I had spent hours on the phone trying to schedule treatment of [ID] by IV infusion. He was very empathetic and hoped I would be successful soon. My brother and sister-in-law now see him due to my recommendation and are very pleased with his care as well.

I had gone to Hoag Urgent Care due to a complete body rash and then emailed Dr Longberg on my chart and received a reply and appointment within the 3-day timeline. I am very happy with my dermatologist He provides good care and does a thorough exam. This time I had a small wart on my thumb, which he froze It seems to be working. He said if that did not work he would cut it out. That made a lot of sense to me. Otherwise I am really looking for early detection of any skin cancers.
