About Granthem T. Farr

Dr. Granthem Farr enjoys the ability to be with patients during such an important moment in the patient and their family’s lives. The pulmonary outpatient practice is where Dr. Farr fell in love with longitudinal medicine: meeting and managing chronic diseases to help people understand their condition and be as healthy as they can be. Dr. Farr’s favorite part of his job is the people he encounters, and having the opportunities to sit with them in the ICU, walk them through a complex disease like pulmonary hypertension, or give them the good news that the lung nodules were not cancer. He believes it’s in those moments where he can make medicine understandable and approachable to people who may not understand all the medical jargon.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Farr moved away for medical school, residency, and fellowship. He and his wife loved the opportunity to see the rest of the country but always knew that Oregon was home. They love the weather, the people, the opportunities to be active, and the amazing selection of great restaurants in Portland.

Outside of work, Dr. Farr likes to hike, find new trails, and explore Oregon. He and his wife enjoy being on the water with their family, playing golf and tennis, and taking in a good movie.
