Dr. Jeff Welder provides sophisticated and individualized care for patients. He enjoys all aspects of eye care, with special interest and experience in cataract surgery and glaucoma treatment and surgery along with retinal and oculoplastics procedures. “It brings me joy to empower my patients through education and improve their vision with the best care possible.” A highly skilled surgeon, Dr. Welder uses state-of-the-art, minimally invasive technology and the most advanced intraocular lens implants for the treatment of cataracts to improve both near and distance vision. Dr Welder has contributed advancements in the field of ophthalmology and utilizes the latest surgical and clinical techniques. He has numerous research publications and was the recipient of the prestigious P. J. Lienfelder Award. Dr. Welder is passionate about sharing his expertise in resource-challenged countries and has traveled to Central America, South America and the Himalayas to provide medical care. In his free time, Dr. Welder enjoys spending time with his wife, Alicia, an Emergency Medicine physician, and his sweet daughters, Ella and Avery. He loves exploring the beautiful and culturally robust Rogue Valley and is an avid kayaker, hiker and scuba diver.
