About Jordan A. Sugarman

Jordan Sugarman, M.D. is an ophthalmologist specializing in management of disorders of the retina, macula, and vitreous. He uses the latest premium technology and evidence-based treatment guidelines to help patients achieve the best vision possible. Dr. Sugarman is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the George Washington University in our nation’s capital of Washington, D.C., graduating with special honors in Biology. As a medical student at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, he first gained a passion for Ophthalmology through research at the esteemed Wills Eye Hospital under the guidance of world-renowned ocular oncologists Drs. Carol and Jerry Shields. After completing rigorous Ophthalmology training at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Dr. Sugarman completed additional subspecialty training in the treatment of retinal disorders at the prestigious UCLA Stein Eye Institute/Doheny Eye Institute, the #5 ranked eye hospital nationally. Currently, Dr. Sugarman is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the International Retinal Imaging Society. He has published and presented his research at both national and international scientific conferences and has served as an investigator on clinical trials. When he’s not working, Dr. Sugarman enjoys hiking, weight lifting, running, traveling, and spending time with his family.
