About Sarah F. Ahmed
Dr. Sarah Farukhi Ahmed is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and glaucoma surgeon. She specializes in advanced glaucoma medical and surgical management, cataracts, dry eyes, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Ahmed graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California (USC) and completed her ophthalmology residency at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute at the University of California in Irvine. During her training, Dr. Ahmed received many awards including the Harbor UCLA preliminary resident of the year, UC Irvine chief resident in ophthalmology and the UC Irvine outstanding resident research award. Dr. Ahmed’s passion for advancing treatment in the field of ophthalmology, particularly glaucoma, led her to complete a glaucoma surgical fellowship at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Shiley Eye Institute. She has presented her research in minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS) in international platforms as well, most recently the World Glaucoma Association Meeting in Finland. Through her research, surgical experience and clinical skill set, Dr. Ahmed is dedicated to her patients receiving the best possible care and achieving their best sight.
