Mario A. Meallet, MD

Dr. Meallet received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Doheny Eye Institute/LA County + USC Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in cornea/external disease at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. Following his fellowship, he joined the faculty at the Doheny Eye Institute. During his six years at the institute he gained extensive experience in cataract and corneal surgery, as well as medical and surgical management of glaucoma. Other areas of expertise include management of eye injuries and trauma. Dr. Mario Meallet is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center, where he teaches cataract and corneal surgery, and he has lectured and taught in numerous surgical courses. He has also published in textbooks on cataract surgery. Dr. Meallet is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
