About Michael R. Parsons

Dr. Michael Parsons has always loved science. When he started college, he thought he wanted to be a chemical engineer, but a friend who wanted to be a doctor convinced him otherwise. “Within a month of starting med school I knew I was going to be a Cardiologist. The heart has everything; a unique structure, an electrical system, a mechanical system, a circulatory system – I love the complexity of it.”

Dr. Parsons, a board certified Cardiologist, earned his medical degree from Columbia University in New York City. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and fellowship training in cardiovascular disease at the University of Massachusetts.

A personal area of interest in Dr. Parsons’ career thus far has been in adult congenital cardiology, where he’s had a lot of interesting cases. “The heart is very elegant and it doesn’t take a lot to throw it all off.”

Dr. Parsons was born in Florida, and grew up in Massachusetts. When away from his medical practice, he enjoys doing home renovation projects – the demo is his favorite part. He also enjoys skiing and hiking, and enjoying all the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
