Dr S. has great bedside manner, comes to the visit having reviewed my history, listens carefully, is respectful, has great insight, is willing to say "no" or "I don't know" if that is his truth, makes me feel respected and heard. He's great!

Dr. Schoenkerman is warm and congenial, and very professional - a tough balance to achieve. He listened patiently as I spoke, and waited until I was finished speaking to question me about flushing out answers to his follow-up questions. He was already aware of my medical history, even though this was my first appointment with him. His explanations of my situation, what he believed to be my best options were explained very thoroughly in a manner I could easily understand. Even then, he asked if I had any other questions or concerns. I was very appreciative and grateful for his care.

As a recent transplant to Portland, perhaps the most difficult task for someone 79 years of age was to find new healthcare providers. Scouring the internet is at times a difficult way to go about this job, but if you have no friends or family here to assist, you're on your own. I want to say unequivocally that I hit a home run with Dr. Schoenkerman. I was so impressed with his ability to explain things to me in a manner a layman can understand, his ability to listen carefully to what I had to offer or ask, and the overall genuine care he showed toward me as a patient and a human being. I guess you just get lucky sometimes as I don't know how many Dr. Schoenkermans there are out there.
