About Jessemae L. Welsh

Dr. Jess Welsh is a breast surgical oncologist in Spokane, Washington. After graduating with honors from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, she completed general surgery residency and cancer research fellowship at the University of Iowa. She then completed specialized breast fellowship training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Welsh is passionate about providing comprehensive care in all areas of breast health including screening, early detection, high-risk surveillance, genetic testing, and breast cancer. She approaches breast cancer treatment with a multidisciplinary, team-based care model with open communication throughout the cancer journey from diagnosis to treatment, recovery, and long-term survivorship. Dr. Welsh is committed to compassionate, quality care of the whole person throughout each patient’s experience. She believes in evidence-based medicine and using the latest techniques to help lessen anxiety and improve the comfort and long-term outcomes for her patients.

When she is not in the clinic or hospital, Dr. Welsh enjoys the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest including running and hiking with her dog, skiing and photography. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and friends, playing flute in community band, and traveling to marathons with a goal to complete marathons in all 50 states. She has a personal interest in nutrition, motivational coaching and mindset psychology.
